Jessica was a sexy twenty five year old. Her friends at work talked her into going to a party at a co-worker's house. She had not been out in a very long time. Jessica would rather be at home watching a movie with her son. She agreed to go, thinking she could leave after an hour and get back home.
Luke was a gorgeous football player who had just returned home after being injured playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His football career was over. It was the first time he had been home for more than a day in seven years. His friend from college, Linda, tried to get him out of the house. She finally got him to agree to go to a party she was having and even talked him into taking one of her friends as his date. He was not looking forward to it.
Jessica arrived at the party to hang out with her friends from work. It ended up being a much better time than she thought it would be. Her friend John pulled her along to dance with him. They laughed and joked as he dipped her. That was when she spotted Luke, her high school sweetheart, with her friend Heather. The only man she had ever truly loved.
Luke could not believe it, when his eyes connected with Jessica's. She was the woman who tore his heart in two. It took all he had not to turn around and take off out the door. His friend Linda pulled him into her home to show him around and meet her friends.
Jessica's heart raced as Linda brought Luke and Heather over to introduce him to the group from work. Jessica hurried to excuse herself before anyone could say a word. When she returned, Luke was standing with her friends. Her hands shook as Linda introduced her to Luke. She said a simple hello as he looked into her eyes in shock. Jessica excused herself to go over to the couch. She had her head down, but could feel Luke in front of her. He sat down next to her to talk. Heather came up, plopped into his lap, put her arms around his neck, and kissed his cheek.
Jessica could not take it, she had to get out of there. Without saying a word, she took off out the door to her car. How could he have been at the party? Why was he with her friend Heather? Why did he have to look even sexier than she remembered?
When Luke couldn't get her off his mind, he knew that he had to see her. He pulled up in front of her house and could not believe what he saw. Luke wanted answers.
What would she say when confronted by him?
How would she explain why she made the decisions she did?
How would he react to her answers?
A Love Rekindled is a complete, stand-alone novella.

I read a lot of books by Jill Shalvis, Susan Mallery, and Robyn Carr. Their writing style is inventive and down to earth. Their books keep my interest because they are so clever. This book is not. The writing is so elementary. It reads like a grade school writing project, without the sex! The subject matter interested me but it took so long to get through a sentence. I began skipping parts. How many times can you read "I will" without wishing for the author to use I'll. It also was a little unorganized. Luke finds out he has a son so Jessica and him decide to live happily ever after. I felt like the author threw in a sex scene because there was still half the book left. Even that read like something thrown together quickly. I'm not trying to be harsh but this book needs some work with writing style.Product details

A Love Rekindled The Game of Love #1 edition by Sharon Cummin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
In the end love conquers all. This book was so sweet and hot love scenes and I loved it. Would def recommend it!
The problem in the story was never resolved! You can't do something like that and there be no consequences. It could have been a really good book.
This book was a disappointment. Characters had no connection .
Story had potential but there was no tension, reason why they separated was juvenile at best . Don't waste your time on this one there are do many great books out there that live up to their promise.
I honestly had a very hard time finishing this particular book. It did have a great story line however, it felt like there was no detail and that the author didn't connect with her characters. It was like I was reading a young teenagers work, if this book had gone more in depth and if the author would have tried to grab the readers attention it would have been an amazing book. I wouldn't have had a hard time falling inlove with Jessica and Lukes love story if it was written with emotion. It's an okay read but not worth spending money on
3-3.5 stars. The storyline is second chance romance with a predictable surprise. I love plot lines like this. While all of the characters were likable, the story itself was just okay. I wasn't feeling the depth of the emotions that the characters were feeling. While I wanted Luke and Jessica to be together again, everything just seemed anti-climactic in terms of the story build-up and resolution despite the good outcome.
What a great book. Second chance book. Hero was a nice guy who loved heroine and did'nt understand why she dumped him after high school grad. he went on to play in college and then to Steelers where he was injured. He came home and met the heroine again. So that's where the story started. I loved the fact he loved the heroine all this time and even had her intial on his tattoed on his bicep.
This was a sweet story of love that was lost but found. In it she left him so that he could pursue his dream. But now he is back home due to an injury that forced him to reevaluate his dream. What happens next is the story line
